Nilüfer Municipality started to provide food aid to families in need. The food package, which includes products such as flour, oil, sugar and pulses, is delivered to thousands of households with financial difficulties.

Nilüfer Municipality, which offers iftar meals to citizens in the soup kitchen during the month of Ramadan, also provides food support to citizens with financial inadequacy. Citizens in need benefit from this support, which will be provided during the month of Ramadan.

Food packages containing high quality and nutritious products are delivered to the citizens who request it and who are determined to be in need with the guidance of the neighborhood headmen. Food packages containing flour obtained from wheat produced by Nilüfer Agricultural Development Cooperative (NİLKOOP) and products such as noodles and tarhana made using these flours, as well as oil, tomato paste, tea, salt and legumes are delivered to hundreds of families every day.

The teams affiliated to the Nilüfer Municipality Social Support Services Directorate go door to door in 64 neighborhoods of the city, delivering food packages to thousands of families who make demands.

Nilüfer Mayor Turgay Erdem, who stated that the month of Ramadan in Nilüfer passes in a spirit of solidarity as always, said, “The spirit of cooperation-sharing in the month of Ramadan is intensely experienced in Nilüfer.

While meeting with our citizens at the iftar table every evening in our soup kitchen that we opened in Üçevler District, we also started to distribute food packages to the households in need. We are delivering the food parcels we have prepared to thousands of our citizens who went to the headman’s offices and requested a food package at the beginning of March.”
