BUSINESSES CAN BECOME CARBON NEUTRAL WITHOUT SPENDING A PENNY
ESCON Energy, Turkey’s first and only global energy services company, received the “Energy Efficiency and Decarbonization Project with ESCO Model” award at the Low Carbon Hero Awards Ceremony organized by the Sustainable Production and Consumption Association.
ESCON Energy CEO Onur Ünlü stated that businesses should aim to become carbon neutral in order to combat climate change, be less affected by rising energy costs, and increase their efficiency. “In this process, we reduce energy costs with our emission reduction services, ensure that businesses do not spend a single penny from their capital budgets by financing these projects with performance guarantees, and support exporters in increasing their international market shares,” Ünlü said.
ESCON Energy, Turkey’s first and only global energy services company offering innovative solutions to businesses in the transition to a low-carbon economy, has been recognized with an award for their work in this field. The company received the award in the “Greenhouse Gas Reducers with Innovative Solutions” category at the Low Carbon Hero Awards Ceremony held as part of the 8th Istanbul Carbon Summit organized by the Sustainable Production and Consumption Association (SÜT-D) with the main support of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change and Istanbul Technical University (ITU). Onur Ünlü: “We are working to make businesses carbon neutral”
Noting the momentum of the transition to a low-carbon economy worldwide, ESCON Energy CEO Onur Ünlü stated that “Businesses need to aim for carbon neutrality in order to be less affected by the global cost increase, supply and security risks in energy, and the effects of the climate crisis, and to increase their productivity. Awareness in this area is also increasing. Companies investing in moving away from fossil fuels such as coal and natural gas are aiming to maximize energy efficiency, reduce consumption, use electricity entirely, and source it from renewable energy sources. Last year, we made a transformation in our business model that was a first in the industry, and announced that our new vision was to ‘make businesses carbon neutral’. Every service we offer and every work we do within this scope is aimed at ensuring energy efficiency, reducing carbon footprint, and therefore serving sustainability. We are very happy to have our efforts recognized with an award and I congratulate all the low-carbon heroes who received awards in the competition.”
Ünlü expressed that they provide added value to businesses through their efforts towards energy efficiency, stating that “With our services aimed at reducing emissions, we lower energy costs, enable businesses to not spend a single penny from their capital budgets by financing these projects with performance guarantees, and support exporters in increasing their international market shares.”
