Speaking within the scope of the Second Century Economics Congress organized by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, economist-journalist Dr. Emin Çapa said, “We are in such a small, new place in the adventure of science that only this much illuminates our path. But if you don’t own it, then you’re left in the dark. You lose your route, your way. Darkness, superstition and superstition will devour you.”
Economist-journalist Dr. Emin Çapa made a presentation with the title “A New World, A New Turkey”. Emin Çapa said, “The First Economic Congress in İzmir was the study of how a new country can be built after Turkey has come out of a destruction. But we finished the destruction and founded our country. This second one is exactly the same thing. It is about whether we can save our country from a second destruction and build a new country. The weird thing is this. In the first, we liberated Izmir after we invaded it. For the second, it has something for me. After the Istanbul and Ankara local elections, everyone thanked many people. I thanked Izmir. İzmir showed us the importance of standing up for its principles and resisting, even if it does not receive service or money. For the same reason, there is a special reason why this congress is in İzmir. At that point, how are we going to rebuild our country? We are talking about the second century here for him,” he said.
“There is no value in anything you don’t put reason and science into”
Stating that there are still those who think that there will be development with thermal power plants, Emin Çapa said: “You cannot build a new world without putting in your mind the presupposition that a new world is being built. The main thing in the economy is your energy consumption. Up to a point. You can see the link between the national income of the USA, the world’s largest economy, and energy consumption. If you had one unit of national income and one unit of energy consumption in 1950, the more energy they were, the more national income until the mid-70s. Energy consumption slowed in the mid-1970s. National income rose. When it comes to the mid-80s, the national income explodes. Energy consumption almost comes to a standstill. While energy has decreased since 2000, the increase in national income continues. This shows us something. The link between energy growth and national income is breaking. From where? Because l; Anything you don’t put reason and science into has no value anymore. It could be agriculture, it could be industry. It doesn’t matter. Throw away anything you don’t put science into.”
“Played with DNA”
Explaining that he had a great break, Emin Çapa said, “There is no such thing as you know between the old and the new. Those in this room, those close to my age, will probably be the last generation to die as human beings. The younger ones will not die as humans. They were born as humans, but they will not die as humans. Descendants of these generations will most likely not be born human either. The twins, who are not currently born human in the world, turned five years old in China. Their DNA was played with. The world is entering a new era,” he said.
“The most important subject of the future is life sciences”
Explaining that the most important subject of the future will be life sciences, Emin Çapa said, “It would be unfair to reduce the issue to pharmacology only. We are talking about something else. You will not die as a human being. You have never experienced anything like this before. This is not the agricultural revolution. We are at the point of recreating the human being. Is this a very good thing? I am so afraid. I’m terrified because the ethical side of this case is missing. Reason and science side is okay, but if we do not put conscience next to reason and science, that side scares me a lot. How do Turkish people run towards the future? Does he run to the future by looking back? The secret of civilization, power and technology is science. If there is no science, there is no prosperity, civilization, wealth, technology,” he said.
He explained the importance of science
Asking the question “What is science?” and demanding that the lights of the hall be turned off, Çapa lit a match and said, “I will show you what science is in this darkness. This is science. Because our science adventure is very new. We are in such a small new place in the adventure of science that only so much illuminates our path. But if you don’t own it, then you’re left in the dark. You lose your route, your way. Darkness, superstition and superstition will eat you up. You will destroy your own life, your children’s life, and the future of your country. You lose your way in the dark. You will lose the future of your country, of yourself, of your children, of your people. I believe in Turkey very much. The new world demands a new us. Either you will protect your country. Or you won’t have a country or people to claim,” he said.
