Healthcare professionals working at Ege University Faculty of Dentistry voluntarily joined Türkiye Elektrik İletişim A.Ş. He gave oral and dental health training by conducting examinations of earthquake victims staying in Izmir Regional Directorate Guesthouse.

After the earthquakes affecting 10 provinces centered in Kahramanmaraş, Ege University (EU), which embraced the victims of disasters who left the region and came to Izmir, continues to heal the wounds of the earthquake victims. Ege University Faculty of Dentistry Faculty Members Prof. Dr. Zuhal Tuğsel and Assoc. Dr. Together with Ilgın İlgenli, a volunteer team of 14 people provided oral care services to earthquake victims who were placed in İzmir TEİAŞ guesthouse with their families. The team, which carried out intraoral examinations of 30 earthquake victims, 10 of whom were children, gave oral care and oral hygiene trainings, and did play and painting activities with the children.

Expressing that as the Ege University family, they always stand by the earthquake victims, Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Budak said, “As the university, we have tried to heal the wounds of the earthquake with all our units from the very first moment of the earthquake, together with one heart and one heart, and we say we continue to work. In this process, we mobilized our scientific power in many areas from education to in-kind and cash aid, from blood donation to support of health personnel. Now, our volunteer team of 14 people, under the coordination of faculty members of our Faculty of Dentistry, provided oral care services to our earthquake victims who came to İzmir. Our volunteer team also provided oral hygiene training for adults and children and set up examination appointments in our Faculty of Dentistry for the continuation of their treatment. As Ege University family, we offer all the facilities of our university to the service of our citizens. Working together, we will heal the wounds of the great disaster as one heart.”
