The exhibition of treasures of the famous pharaoh Tutankhamun, which continues to attract the attention of millions of people of all ages for 100 years, will open on Friday, January 20 at UniqExpo Istanbul. The treasures found in the king tomb of Pharaoh Tutankhamun, which is considered the greatest archaeological discovery of the 20th century and gained great fame all over the world 3300 years after his death, continue to attract the attention of millions of people of all ages. The artifacts unearthed from the tomb of Tutankhamun, which is the “first pharaoh’s tomb to be found intact” by British archaeologist Howard Carter in 1922, is the richest and most magnificent treasure unearthed in the Valley of the Kings in Egypt. The Child King Tutankhamun’s Treasures Exhibition, which has been traveling the world for years and breaking visitor records, will be opened to visitors for the first time on Friday, January 20, 2023 at UniqExpo Istanbul in Turkey. prof. Dr. İlber Ortaylı: The exhibition must be seen
Famous historian and writer Prof. Dr. İlber Ortaylı said that the Ancient Egyptian civilization, located in parts of North Africa and the Middle East, was one of the strongest and most impressive civilizations in the region with its glorious achievements in engineering, writing and art for more than 3,000 years, from about 3,100 BC to 30 BC. Stating that the ‘Child King’ Tutankhamun, who ascended the throne at the age of 9 and ruled during the 18th Dynasty of Egypt and died mysteriously at the age of 19, has a different place in the history of Ancient Egypt. Dr. Ortaylı said that the Tutankhamun treasures exhibition, which came to Turkey for the first time, is a must-see for students of all ages, as well as those interested in history, culture and art.
The richest royal treasure in history
Tufan Zaman, Chairman of the Board of Level A.Ş and the organizer of the “Tutankhamun, the Child King’s Treasures Exhibition”, also included the solid gold coffin from Tutankhamun’s burial chamber, the world-famous death mask made of gold and precious stones, a chariot, weapons. Stating that there are exact replicas of over 400 invaluable works selected among daily items such as canes and furniture, he gave the following information:
“The original collection of 5,000 items belonging to Tutankhamun’s Treasure is now housed in the Great Egyptian Museum, which was built in Cairo, across from the Pyramids of Giza, in honor of the 100th anniversary of the tomb’s discovery, while it was meticulously produced by the accredited artists of the Egyptian Government. we are exhibiting the exact replicas simultaneously at UniqExpo Istanbul. The exhibition will take visitors on a journey of discovery into the mysteries of Ancient Egypt, such as when Tutankhamun’s treasures were found by British archaeologist Howard Carter in 1922. Throughout the exhibition, a unique experience will be presented with video and projection displays based on the diaries of Archaeologist Howard Carter about Ancient Egypt and Tutankhamun. In addition to over 400 works belonging to the treasury, the exhibition will feature the mysterious story of the famous pharaoh and reconstructed visual elements of Ancient Egypt. This way, visitors of all ages will be able to witness Tutankhamun’s life up close and observe this mysterious and magnificent life down to the last detail.”
