Çiğdem YORGANCIOĞLU’s Message:
To maintain the independence and territorial integrity of a country by embracing intercultural diversity and inclusivity of values, making judicious decisions with determination, along with the necessary intensive, strategically planned, highly coordinated, and systematic efforts, having a strong foreign affairs organization accompanying expanded security policies is of paramount importance. Our diplomats are, in a sense, the voice, breath, and heart of this external representation. To better understand this voice, breath, and heart, there is Diplomati-chi talks with Çiğdem Yorgancıoğlu.
One day, if I were to turn my honorary diplomatic press conversations held in Turkey and various continents around the world into memories, I am sure titles like these would compete for the name of my book: “The Value of Political History Narration from Primary Sources,” “Memoirs Lived in Foreign Affairs.”
In our country’s history, memories play a crucial role in understanding the political history of foreign policy from past to present, just as archives do. Memories, with their intricate diplomatic language, the terminology of the old political science language, eloquence, and the subtlety of diplomatic language agility, can inspire the public, especially in promoting social peace. Understanding the value of what they can contribute to academic and scientific research, I drew inspiration for my political science language literacy education from the refined and nuanced information between the lines of their words. One of those esteemed diplomats, a dear friend, brother, and lifelong learner with a high enthusiasm for curiosity, whose modest and at the same time witty, determined, and crystal-clear reasoning I admire, is Retired Ambassador M. Uğur Ergun. Today, he is my guest on the Chi Ci Talks ArtChi Talks – Diplomati-Chi Talks program. I would like to express my gratitude for hosting us in his home alongside our foreign friend, a citizen of three countries (Indian-English, Turkish), and for the delightful conversation. Thanks again for everything. H. Çiğdem Yorgancıoğlu
