Çankaya Municipality commemorated the great folk poet Aşık Veysel on the 50th anniversary of his death. Many citizens attended the commemoration program held at the MEB Council Hall.
Turkish folk poet Aşık Veysel, who was included in the commemoration program on the 50th anniversary of his death by UNESCO, which operates as a special institution of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, was commemorated at the ceremony organized by Çankaya Municipality. As part of the commemoration programs organized as the “Year of Aşık Veysel” in Turkey this year, the people of Başkent commemorated Veysel with their folk songs.
In the “Muhabbet Bendi” commemorative concert, where folk music artists Dertli Divani and Ender Balkır took the stage, the artists sang works by the great folk poet Aşık Veysel.
Dertli Divani and Ender Balkır were accompanied by Ferhat Karaca in the piano binding, Mert Kılıç in the cura, Serkan Güneyi in the bass guitar, Giray Akçay in the guitar and Burak Çınar in the percussion at the concert, which was hosted by Çankaya Municipality and attracted great interest from the citizens.
