BNP Paribas Cardif Raises Awareness on Coastal and Marine Cleanliness on World Environment Day
BNP Paribas Cardif, with its mission to create a positive impact, highlighted the importance of coastal and marine cleanliness on World Environment Day, June 5th. Recently, BNP Paribas Cardif organized a significant event in the field of corporate social responsibility by taking action for clean seas and pristine shores. Volunteers from BNP Paribas Cardif participated in a coastal cleaning activity in the Sarıyer district of Istanbul, where they spent approximately 3 hours collecting 86 kilograms of waste from the sea, which was then delivered to the municipality for recycling.

By emphasizing the importance of coastal and marine cleanliness on World Environment Day, BNP Paribas Cardif Turkey continues to raise awareness with its vision of a livable world. Recently, BNP Paribas Cardif Turkey took action for blue seas and clean shores. In order to draw attention to how environmental pollution affects our seas and coasts negatively, BNP Paribas Cardif volunteers organized a coastal cleaning event in collaboration with the MarineClean Association/TURMEPA. 20 volunteers gathered at Kısırkaya Beach in Sarıyer, Istanbul to combat marine pollution caused by terrestrial waste. During the approximately 3-hour coastal cleaning activity at Kısırkaya Beach, Cardif volunteers successfully collected a total of 86 kilograms of paper, plastic, metal, glass, and non-recyclable waste, removing them from the sea. The collected waste was sorted and delivered to the municipality for recycling.
As part of the event, an interactive training session was conducted by the MarineClean Association/TURMEPA. BNP Paribas Cardif volunteers, who participated in volunteer activities during their working hours as part of the BNP Paribas Group’s global 1 Million Hours Volunteer Program, gained important knowledge about the impacts of seas and marine pollution on nature and wildlife, in addition to contributing to coastal cleanliness.
