The Imagination Center/Association is preparing to organize the second edition of the Imagination Awards, aiming to emphasize the importance of creativity and imagination and to support outstanding success stories in this field. Transforming into a unique initiative in Turkey and worldwide, the Imagination Awards, sponsored by Akbank, will find its winners through a special event held at Sabancı Center on January 20.
Imagination Awards Managed Together with Children
The Imagination Center/Association believes that creativity and imagination should not only be for children but should be managed together with them. In line with this understanding, children and young people aged 9-24 actively take on key roles in every stage of the Imagination Awards, such as the Executive Board, Research Board, Selection Board, etc. Each board is composed of 50% children and young people, putting their perspectives at the forefront of the event.
First Step: Executive and Selection Board Meeting
The first meeting regarding the 2nd Imagination Awards was held at Artİstanbul Feshane. The first step for the awards was taken with the “Executive and Selection Board” meeting, where valuable figures from the fields of education, civil society, business, and art participated. The Imagination Center Executive Board, Imagination Awards Selection Board, and Imagination Center children provided important explanations regarding the content and regulations of the event. Following this meeting, the processes of the “2nd Imagination Awards” officially began.
Categories and Evaluation Criteria
The 2nd Imagination Awards will evaluate individuals and works that make a difference with imagination based on criteria such as hope, sustainability, creativity, originality. Awards will be distributed in seven main categories: ‘Encouraging, Transformative, Inspiring, Childhood-Enriching, Provocative, Persistent, and Hopeful Imagination.’ Additionally, the ‘Respect and Institution Awards’ category will reward different aspects of the concept of imagination.
Mission to Illuminate the Future
The Imagination Center believes that dreams that have inspired civilizations for thousands of years have sprouted in these lands. Therefore, the Imagination Awards will continue to reward those who turn their dreams into reality, make them visible, and guide future generations.
