The opening of the Albayrak Group Calligraphy Art Exhibition took place in Azerbaijan.
Organized by the Albayrak Group and continuing for nine years, the traditional Calligraphy Art Exhibition traveled thousands of kilometers again this year. After its route in Turkey, the exhibition traveled through various Islamic regions abroad and is now being displayed at the Azerbaijan National Art Museum. The Calligraphy Art Exhibition includes works in which different verses from the Quran and sayings of the Prophet have been transformed into works of art. These works showcase the aesthetics and intricacies of calligraphy and also reflect the rich cultural heritage of Islamic civilization. Dr. Cahit Bağcı, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan, stated during the opening speech, “Today, we attach great importance to this exhibition, which reflects examples of Turkish Islamic arts, calligraphy, our prayers, verses, and the words of the Prophet. Because this exhibition is a part of our values, spirituality, and essence.”

The Calligraphy Art Exhibition is receiving great interest in Azerbaijan.
Calligraphy, which holds a special place among our traditional arts and has a rich cultural heritage in Islamic civilization, is preserved from the past to the present. Albayrak Group continues to bring together young art enthusiasts and master calligraphers by gathering calligraphy works around a different theme each year. After various cities in Turkey, this year’s exhibition route was determined as the Islamic regions with which we share common culture and civilization, and Azerbaijan became the second stop for the exhibition abroad after Uzbekistan. The opening ceremony at the National Art Museum was attended by Dr. Cahit Bağcı, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan, Abdullah Hanönü, the General Director of Albayrak Media Sales and Marketing, Esad Sivri, the Corporate Communications Coordinator of Albayrak Group, as well as many dignitaries, members of the press, and art enthusiasts. The exhibition will be open to visitors until October 15th.

Ambassador Bağcı: “This exhibition is a part of our values, spirituality, and essence.”
Highlighting the importance of supporting the cultural and artistic activities that strengthen the bonds of affection between Azerbaijan and Turkey, Ambassador Dr. Cahit Bağcı stated in his opening speech, “First of all, I would like to thank Albayrak Group for the contributions it has made to our cultural diplomacy. Albayrak Group’s presence not only in media, construction, and other sectors but also in cultural terms is valuable and meaningful to us. Today, we attach great importance to this exhibition, which reflects examples of Turkish Islamic arts, calligraphy, our prayers, verses, and the words of the Prophet. Because this exhibition is a part of our values, spirituality, and essence.”

The Calligraphy Art Exhibition promotes cross-cultural exchanges.
The works prepared each year in Turkey by the Albayrak Group with a different theme and unique interpretations by master calligraphers attract great attention. The exhibition’s expansion to foreign countries aims to increase interest in calligraphy and foster cross-cultural exchanges, alongside the enthusiasm of art lovers and the spread of calligraphy as an art form. It also seeks to carry forward the cultural and civilizational richness of Islamic regions from the past to the present with the same bond of affection and promote intercultural sharing.
