Agricultural School is opening in Buca, which is the district with the most agricultural area in the center of İZMİR. Within the scope of the project, which will revive the spirit of village institutes, training will be provided on scientific farming methods and national marketing strategies, especially for young people and adults in the villages, in cooperation with the Municipality of Buca, Kızılçullar Culture and Solidarity Association.

Buca Municipality, which produces new policies and producer-oriented solutions in the agricultural field, signed a protocol with the Kızılçullar Culture and Solidarity Association for the Agricultural School project, where they will provide training. Speaking at the signing ceremony, Buca Mayor Erhan Kılıç gave information about the agricultural production potential of the city.

“AGRICULTURE MUST BE BASED ON SCIENTIFIC FOUNDATION”

Mentioning the importance of the village region for agriculture, Mayor Kılıç said, “We wish our villagers to earn income by cultivating their lands for life. You cannot ensure continuity in agriculture with hobby gardens. Farming is not a hobby. It should be based on scientific foundations. As Buca Municipality, we have intensified our work in this direction.”

“WE WILL BUILD A SMALL VILLAGE INSTITUTE”

İsmail Öznur, President of Kızılçullar Culture and Solidarity Association, stated that they want to revive the village institute spirit with the Agriculture School project. Öznur said that they watched and liked the work of the Municipality of Buca to increase agricultural production and continued her words as follows: “We believe in development through production. We want to establish a small village institute with the Agricultural School. We want to introduce our children and young people to agriculture and involve them in production.”

WHAT TO DO?

Within the scope of the Agriculture School project to be implemented by Buca Municipality and Kızılçullar Cultural Association, trainings will be organized for children, youth and adults. Activities that bring children together with the land and make them love nature will be organized. Scientific agriculture methods will be explained especially to children and young people living in the villages. Soilless farming will be done. Pruning, agricultural irrigation and vaccination trainings will be given to adults. On the other hand, in the trainings where international marketing strategies will be explained, studies will be carried out for the sale of the products produced on the internet.
