The first episode of “This is the World”, co-written by Erman Çağlar and Ozan Akyol from the KALT team, and Volkan Öge, one of the screenwriters of “Ayak Works”, and directed by Ömer Sinir, the director of “Gibi”, was broadcast on GAIN. . With its first episode, the series draws its viewers into the absurd universe it has created. Snipers, conspiracy theorists, effeminate washing machines, hard-to-host old friends and ambitious swindlers are both familiar and extraordinary.
Could street vendors be saying much more than we think? What if the friends who drag people into nihilism saying “There is no need” really creep? Can an online washing machine get a marriage “on the right track”? Can a discredited phone scammer build a career from scratch?
A little blood, a little yoga, a little law, a lot of surprise… “This is the World” was broadcast on GAIN with its first episode. Message anxiety, general audience pressure, and extraordinary sketches that do not attempt to refer open the door to a contradictory universe free from clichés.
One suitcase, thirty-two stories, one world…
“This is the World”, which will lock the absurd humor lovers on the screen, takes its name from the song of the same name by Gazapizm. A total of thirty-two stories are told in eight chapters, each of which includes independent sketches.
Bringing together the star cast of the new sense of humor in Turkey, the series is a joint production of AC Film and Avşar Film. The script was written by Ozan Akyol and Erman Çağlar from the KALT team, and Volkan Öge, one of the scriptwriters of Ayak İşleri, and the director of the series is Ömer Sinir, who was in the director’s chair in the first two seasons of “Gibi”.
One of the most remarkable aspects of “This is the World” is the successful and very crowded cast. Ali Erkazan, Berrak Tüzünataç, Bülent Şakrak, Caner Özyurtlu, Cemal Hünal, Çağdaş Onur Öztürk, Deniz Işın, Erdem Şenocak, Erman Çağlar, Ertan Saban, Güven Murat Akpınar, Murat Kılıç, Muttalip Müjdeci, Ozan Akyol, Sinan Bengier, Şebnem Bozoklu, Successful names such as Toygan Avanoğlu and Volkan Öge bring to life the surprising characters in the sketches. Each of the players in the 180-person squad stands out with their performances.
