The 2022 Presidential Activity Report was approved in the second session of the April Meeting of the Efes Selcuk Municipality Council. Mayor Filiz Ceritoglu Sengel briefed the council on the work carried out under different departments in her presentation on the activity report.
Mayor Ceritoglu Sengel drew attention to the way the work was carried out as well as the numerical data concerning the work done under the Directorate of Social Aid. “There is also a etiquette of solidarity. Efes Selcuk Municipality has shown this etiquette,” she said. “Unfortunately, I am sorry to say that the number of new faces knocking on the door for social aid has increased incredibly due to the difficult period we are going through and the growing economic crisis after the pandemic. We provided heating aid amounting to 727,000 TL to 909 needy families. We did not just buy and dump the fuel in front of people’s doors, but we provided them with a voucher. Efes Selcuk Municipality showed this etiquette with both the Efeslim Card and the Iftar Card. Both those who fasted and the tradesmen benefited.” Mayor Ceritoglu Sengel stated that a total of 3,787,840 TL of material and cash aid was provided in 2022.
Mayor Ceritoglu Sengel drew attention to complaints about stray animals throughout the year, and pointed out that despite the decreasing number of animals in the Temporary Animal Rehabilitation Center each year, the number of animals neutered has increased. “It is a serious problem indeed. I will also bring up this issue in the Peninsula Municipalities Union because many animals are left here from neighboring districts,” she said.
Providing information on the upper coatings of the roads and sidewalks that were damaged after the infrastructure works and ongoing work, Mayor Ceritoglu Sengel said, “We have made 51,000 square meters of concrete paving and curbs in the Zafer and 14 May neighborhoods in the city center, where infrastructure works have been ongoing for 6 years. We took a loan from the İller Bank for this work, and we are still paying it off. You know that squares show the cities. I don’t know why it was left abandoned for years, but Uğur Mumcu Love Road and the square have finally received the value they deserve, and the added value of our tradesmen’s shops has increased. The area we call the Agora Bazaar has also been transformed. Now, when you pass by, you see a well-organized Ferahlı Cafe and an organized Agora Bazaar, and it would be fitting for such a valuable museum as the Efes Museum to have this in front of it.”
Mayor Ceritoglu Sengel also informed the council about the work carried out with the municipality’s own resources, as well as the loans used. “We carried out 11,740 m2 of road coating and repair work in the Cumhuriyet neighborhood, Isabey, Belevi, Pamucak, and Abuhayat. We also carried out 10,500 m2 of pavement and 204 tons of hot asphalt repair work on the roads remaining within the municipality’s jurisdiction under the infrastructure excavation permit,” she said.

Unfortunately, I must say with regret that the number of new faces who knock on our door for social aid has increased unbelievably. We provided 727,000 TL worth of fuel aid to 909 needy families. We did not just buy and dump the fuel in front of our citizens’ doors with the municipal vehicle when providing this assistance. We gave them a fuel voucher. There is also a code of conduct for solidarity. Efes Selçuk Municipality showed this code of conduct with both the Efeslim Card and the Iftar Card. Fasting people got to break their fast and the tradesmen earned as well,” she said. Mayor Ceritoğlu Sengel stated that a total of 3,787,840 TL worth of material and cash aid was provided in the year 2022.

I will bring up this issue in the Peninsula Municipalities Union. Because a lot of animals are left here from the surrounding districts.”
“THIS IS WHAT THE EFES MUSEUM DESERVES IN FRONT OF IT”

We took a loan from the Iller Bank for this job, and we continue to pay it off. You know that the squares show the cities. I don’t know why it has been abandoned for years, but Uğur Mumcu Sevgi Yolu and the square finally got the value they deserved, and the added value of our shopkeepers there has also increased.
