Recently, on the occasion of the National Sovereignty and Children’s Day on April 23rd, books were gifted and stories were read to children affected by the earthquake, using the donations from the revenue obtained from the first print of the book ‘Digital Family Connected from the Heart’, published under the label of KTO Karatay University Publications (KARYAY).
The Joy of April 23rd Celebrations Read from the Eyes of Children Affected by the Earthquake
In order to alleviate the difficult process for children affected by the earthquake and to make them happy to some extent, the authors and editor of the book ‘Digital Family Connected from the Heart’ visited earthquake-affected children staying in dormitories located in Konya. Books were gifted, stories were read, songs were sung and games were played to the children on the occasion of National Sovereignty and Children’s Day on April 23rd. The joy of April 23rd celebrations was read from the eyes of children affected by the earthquake.
In collaboration with the Konya Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate, a series of events were organized as part of the National Sovereignty and Children’s Day to boost morale of the children of earthquake-affected families staying in KYK dormitories. At the event, games were played and stories were read to the children affected by the earthquake, with the contributions of academician authors of the book ‘Digital Family Connected from the Heart’ and students from KTO Karatay University Department of Child Development. At the end of the day, fairy tale books were gifted to the children, and their happiness was reflected on their faces.
“We Will Stand by Our Children in this Challenging Process”
During the visits, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hatice Yalçın, Head of KTO Karatay University Department of Child Development and one of the authors of the book, said “During our visits to the dormitories on the occasion of National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, we read stories to our children, helped them develop their imagination, and introduced them to the stories of the digital world. We will stand by our children affected by the earthquake and support them.” Dr. Nabat Garakhanova, the editor of the book, said “We believe that using the revenue obtained from the first print of our book for this purpose has made our book even more meaningful. We will continue to stand together to overcome these difficult times.”
