Many renowned figures from the art world, art enthusiasts, and members of the press attended the opening of the “On The Wall Summer ’24” exhibition at The Wall Art Gallery in Karaköy on July 17.

Founder of The Wall Art Gallery, Ferhan Karaselçuk

In a short interview with Ferhan Karaselçuk, the founder of The Wall Art Gallery, he made the following statements about the exhibition and the gallery:

“Our interest in art dates back to seven years ago, starting with Artisans art magazine. In the following periods, during the pandemic, The Wall was launched online as an e-commerce platform. After the pandemic eased, we found a gallery space and moved all our artists to a physical location. Many of these artists were initially gathered through open calls. We collected them through open calls on the social media account of our magazine. We featured interviews with some of them in our magazine at that time, while we kept others on hand. This is how our online artist portfolio was actually formed.”

“We are inside a historical venue in Karaköy. I find this building, dating back to the Genoese, very precious. We enjoy creating enjoyable exhibitions that bring contemporary art to audiences within this historical setting. We have our represented artists and engage in various collaborations. We have been with our artists for 2.5 years. Hopefully, we will continue together with The Wall Art for many, many, many years in the same venue. Currently, we have 35 artists in this exhibition, both local and foreign. It will continue until September, so approximately 60-65 more days. Afterwards, our gallery will host solo exhibitions as part of our regular schedule.”

“Our top floor houses our pop-up art area. We already have ongoing exhibitions there. It’s a space where our artists are constantly refreshed. It’s a floor with circulation. When our solo exhibitions begin, that area is always lively, dynamic, and vibrant.”
