The work “A Room of One’s Own” by English female author Virginia Woolf is known as a groundbreaking book that sheds light on its era, emphasizing the need for women to assert their power more prominently in society and overturning the discourses of a male-dominated society. This work, which remains relevant both globally and in our country, draws attention with its themes that resonate with the period in which it was written.
Inspired by this masterpiece, an exhibition dedicated to Virginia Woolf is being organized under the curation of painter Iclal Erentürk Güçsav, featuring the participation of 13 female artists. The “A Room of One’s Own” exhibition presents new productions encompassing various fields of expression, offering windows into humanity, womanhood, existence, power, freedom, originality, differences, awareness, renewal, boundlessness, introspection, and intellectuality. Each artist participates in this exhibition with works created in their own “rooms of one’s own.”

The artists participating in the exhibition include Candan Seda Balaban, Esin Balcan Büyükkalfa, Ayşen Erte, Rezzan Demir, Sibel Akkulak Dosch, Nurgül Dökmecier, Iclal Erentürk Güçsav, Türkan Karali, Türkan Akkulak Koç, Milena Mladenova, Ceylan Mutlu, Pınar Partanaz, and Umut Sungur.

The exhibition, held at Fular’t Sanat Evi, will be open to art enthusiasts at Roptiye Street, 19/A Kızıltoprak, Kadıköy-Istanbul. This special exhibition aims to bring visitors together with the power of art and the creative energy of women.
