Gaziantep-based artist Pınar Kanber presented her painting exhibition titled “In the Footsteps of Caravanserais”, consisting of works created with acrylic paint technique on canvas, to art lovers at SANKO Art Gallery.
Abandoned Caravanserais Revived with Colors
The artist stated that by expressing the abandoned caravanserais with colors in his works, he aims to emphasize the past and draw attention to the existence of these historical structures.

The Depths of Seljuk Caravanserais
In his exhibition titled “In the Footsteps of Caravanserais”, Kanber stated that he handled the data and unifying elements of Seljuk Caravanserais within historical and social transformation. The exhibition focuses on the depths of the Seljuk Caravanserais by looking backwards from current events.

The Power of Art to Make Us Think and Question
Emphasizing that art is not only a means of making people happy, but also a means of confronting reality, making them think and questioning, Kanber stated that the source of his works are the concepts of time in the continuity of life and the impressions in the past subconscious.

Meeting with Gaziantep Art Lovers
The artist, who was influenced by Gaziantep’s deep-rooted history, rich culture and authentic structure, stated that he was happy to bring his works together with art lovers from Gaziantep at SANKO Art Gallery and thanked SANKO Art Gallery for its support and hosting.

Scientific Publication Gift and Exhibition Information
After the exhibition opening, SANKO Art Gallery Executive Board Member Murat Köylüoğlu presented the artist with the work titled “Belkıs Zeugma and Mosaics”, which was printed by SANKO Holding and is the scientific publication of Gaziantep Archeology Museum. The painting exhibition themed “In the Footsteps of Caravanserais” can be visited at SANKO Art Gallery between 10.00-22.00 every day until February 2, 2024. The exhibition started with an opening ceremony with the participation of Cengiz Halil Çiçek, Vice Chairman of SANKO Art Gallery Executive Board, Hüseyin Yıldırım, Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce Fine Arts High School Painting Teacher, academicians and art lovers.

PINAR KANBER
Pınar Kanber was born in Istanbul in 1974. In 2004, she graduated from Kocaeli University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting, and in 2008 she completed her master’s degree at Kocaeli University Faculty of Social Sciences.

Kanber, who has been providing art education to adults and children in her workshop since 2003, has provided art consultancy to institutions and NGOs. She coordinated EU Projects in Kocaeli and worked as an art writer for local newspapers.

While working as an Art Director at Vehbi Koç Foundation, Kanber implemented hundreds of culture, art and social responsibility projects, established a theater club with the Hearing Impaired and assumed the role of general coordinator.
The artist, who has researches and writings on many subjects, especially Caravanserais, continues his national and international art projects in his workshop in Istanbul.
