Karşıyaka Mayor Cemil Tugay, who made statements regarding the results of the Presidential and 28th Term Parliamentary General Elections held on May 14, 2023, emphasized the struggle and said that Turkey has embarked on a two-week journey that will determine its hundred-year future.
“WE WILL CONTINUE TO DEFEND OUR HONOR!”
Starting his statement by thanking the people of Karşıyaka for their high turnout and choices in the May 14 elections, Tugay said, “Respected fellow citizens, as the people of Karşıyaka, I thank you very much for your high participation in the general election held yesterday and for your support of our Party Leader with over 80%. My gratitude is endless. The second round of elections will take place. We will continue to fight for the values we believe in. We will continue to defend justice against injustices, freedom against oppressions, the ideal of a fully independent Republic of Turkey against those who make our country needy, and the struggle for a humane life against inequalities, defending our honor,” he said.
“IF WE ARE RIGHT, IF WE BELIEVE, ALL THE PEOPLE OF OUR COUNTRY CAN BELIEVE IN IT.”
Emphasizing the importance of the second round of elections and highlighting the will of the people, Tugay continued his statement as follows: “Ahead of us, there is one last election, the result of which is yet to be determined, where we can change the fate of our country by winning. We have a two-week journey of destiny, which may determine the future of Turkey for perhaps a hundred years. If we are right, if we believe, all the people of our country can believe in it. None of us should forget this. The will of the people is essential. Disrespecting the will of the people is never acceptable. We will show that respect to the fullest. We said it’s not about dividing but coming together within the framework of love, respect, and justice, and we are in the same place. Two weeks from now, this belief and dream must win. I call on all of you to believe in it and fight for it.”
