Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay, together with AK Party Konya Deputy Orhan Erdem, inaugurated the People’s Garden in Sarayönü, which was established by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change.

Mayor Altay stated that the area where the Sarayönü People’s Garden is located has been transformed into a magnificent natural wonder and said, “We are pursuing an opening or a groundbreaking ceremony every day. Just today, the total cost of the openings we held in three districts is almost 250 million Turkish Lira.” AK Party Konya Deputy Orhan Erdem said, “The AK Party era is full of works. Every day, a work is opened in Turkey and in districts.”

The opening of the Beşgöz People’s Garden, which was established in Sarayönü by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, was also held.

Sarayönü Mayor Nafiz Solak, speaking at the opening, thanked the ministers, including President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who supported the investments made in the district, Metropolitan Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay, Members of Parliament, and public institutions and organizations.

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay said that they opened a total of five wastewater treatment plants in Kulu and Cihanbeyli with a total investment cost of 140 million Turkish Lira and started his speech by saying, “Just as we protect Beşgöz here, advanced biological treatment facilities emerged to protect Tuzgölü there. I wish that our openings there will also be auspicious.”

Mayor Altay, who noted that the area where the Sarayönü People’s Garden is located has been transformed into a magnificent natural wonder, said, “The arrangements made around it indicate that it is a very valuable place not only for Sarayönü but also for our region, and it will be used intensively 365 days a year. We are doing work politics. We are pursuing an opening or a groundbreaking ceremony every day. Just today, the total cost of the openings we held in three districts is almost 250 million Turkish Lira. I would like to thank our Minister of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, Mr. Murat Kurum, and our President of the Housing Development Administration, Mr. Ömer Bulut, for bringing this People’s Garden to our district.

“We are trying to reach everywhere as Metropolitan Municipality”

Mayor Altay continued as follows: “When the Metropolitan Law was first enacted in 2014, everyone said, ‘This cannot be achieved in Konya. Where will the Metropolitan Municipality reach in such a large geography, in an area of 42 thousand square kilometers?’ But almost 9-10 years have passed since then. With the permission of Allah, as the Metropolitan Municipality, we are trying to reach everywhere. Since I took office only in 2018, we have made an investment of 350 million Turkish liras at the current rate for Sarayönü. All of these have returned to you as services. But this does not mean that we have no work to do. There is always work to be done, but rest assured that we are working day and night to complete your deficiencies. With your support, we have no problem that we cannot overcome, with the permission of Allah. These intense days are taking us to the May 14th elections. You have done what is necessary so far, may Allah be pleased with you. But we expect strong support on May 14th. I wish our public park to be beneficial, and I thank those who contributed once again.”

AK Party Konya Deputy Orhan Erdem stated that it was a historic day for Sarayönü and said, “The AK Party era is full of works. A new work is opened every day in Turkey and in districts. But we see them as if they were done in a few days. It is the effort of 20 years. Our Sarayönü, Ladik, and neighborhoods are gaining very large works. Our guests from Konya and nearby districts will come here. It is an investment worth 100 million Turkish liras today. Hopefully, a beautiful venue has been created for the people of Sarayönü and a new area for their guests when they come. We thank our Minister of Environment and Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum, TOKI and our Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay. He is a deserving brother for applause,” he said.

In the program, attended by Konya Chamber of Industry President Mustafa Büyükeğen, AK Party Konya Provincial Board Members Seyit Mehmet Sümer and Fahrettin Kulu, AK Party Sarayönü District Chairman Gamze Karacan, MHP Sarayönü District Chairman Mehmet Kozan, BBP Sarayönü District Chairman Mustafa Döğen, and YRP Sarayönü District Chairman Mustafa Kaya, Sarayönü Beşgöz Public Park was opened with prayers.
