Citizens from different segments of the society who came together at the Eid al-Fitr program organized by the Bağcılar Municipality had breakfast together and celebrated the holiday. Bağcılar Mayor Abdullah Özdemir, who hosted the program, said, “The Bağcılar family has been demonstrating its distinguished stance since its establishment, and will continue to do so strongly in the future.”
Many people, including Bağcılar District Governor Abdullah Uçgun, Bağcılar Mayor Abdullah Özdemir, AK Party District Chairman Rüstem Tüysüz, council members, representatives of civil society organizations, neighborhood heads, veterans, and many citizens, attended the Eid al-Fitr program held at the Dr. Kadir Topbaş People’s Palace.

Özdemir, who said they had a somber Ramadan, said, “We experienced a major earthquake that affected a large part of our country. I pray to Allah for mercy for our citizens who lost their lives. As the Bağcılar family, we made great efforts to heal the wounds by holding hands, side by side, and shoulder to shoulder in the earthquake disaster. I would like to thank all our valuable citizens, from civil society organizations to neighborhood heads and businesspeople. The Bağcılar family, which has shown its distinguished stance since its establishment, continues to do so strongly in the future. As the Bağcılar family, we have provided great support to the earthquake region. We will continue to do so in the future. I sincerely thank you for creating this beautiful unity, this beautiful community.”
250 million TL in aid
Özdemir said they also carried out Ramadan activities in Adıyaman and Malatya this year in addition to Istanbul and stated that they met the iftar and suhoor needs of 20,000 people every day in the earthquake region. It was stated that the amount of aid provided by the Bağcılar Municipality to the earthquake region, from the establishment of 500 container-sized neighborhoods from the trucks sent by the Bağcılar Municipality to aid, amounted to 250 million TL.
After the speeches, a meal was served. After the meal, all guests hugged and celebrated the holiday. Özdemir gave toys to children at the ceremony.
