The musical adaptation of Victor Hugo’s timeless love story, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, by Italian writer and composer Richard Cocciante and legendary French composer Luc Plamondon, has been enchanting audiences since its premiere in 1998. Now, with Gilles Maheu’s direction, Martino Müller’s choreography, and a cast of successful actors who have performed in awe-inspiring productions around the world, this unforgettable piece will once again be performed at Zorlu PSM Turkcell Stage from May 5-23, 2023.
With magnificent compositions and impressive choreography about every emotion related to love, the “Notre Dame de Paris” musical, which is performed with mastery, will be presented to the audience for a total of 21 performances over 15 days at the Zorlu PSM Turkcell Stage. This unforgettable story, which will be performed in French in its original language, will be magnified once again by the performances of the dazzling cast.
The audience in the musical will see Italian actor Angelo Del Vecchio, who has played the role of Quasimodo in three different languages since 2011, and Philippe Tremblay, who is the youngest actor to play the famous character, having been added to the cast at the age of 19. Elhaida Dani, an Albanian singer who has won numerous awards in singing contests across Europe and has become famous, will once again shine in the role of the beautiful Esmeralda.
Robert Marien, who previously made a name for himself in the main cast of the Les Misérables musical, will play Frollo, one of the most complex characters in the musical, alternating with SOLAL. Eric Jetner will play Gringoire, Frollo’s friend, the poet of the streets, and the man whom Esmeralda is forced to marry.
Jay, a French actor who has enchanted audiences since 2016 as part of the main cast of the musical, will appear as Clopin, while Mike Lee, who has been performing in various styles for more than 10 years, will be seen as the same character. Italian actor Gian Marco Schiaretti, who has received praise for his performances in world-famous operas, and Quebec actor Martin Giroux will play Phoebus, while Emma Lépine will portray Phoebus’s fiancée, Fleur-de-Lys. Jaime Bono, who has played roles in classics such as Les Misérables and Beauty and the Beast, will be in the alternate cast of Fleur-de-Lys and Esmeralda.
The “Notre Dame de Paris” musical, which began at Palais des Congres Paris 24 years ago, set a Guinness World Record for “the musical that reached the most viewers in its first year” and continues to attract audiences with the same excitement as on its first day. The songs “Vivre,” “Belle,” and “Le Temps des Cathédrales,” which are featured in the musical, have been on music charts for many years. The “Notre Dame de Paris” musical, which has sold more than 10 million DVDs and CDs and more than 12 million tickets, has been performed in more than 5000 shows in 24 countries and 10 languages, and has won numerous awards.
