On the occasion of the 178th anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Police Organization and the Police Week on April 10th, a wreath-laying ceremony was held at the Republic Square with the participation of Foça Governor Mehmet TÜRKÖZ and district protocol. Foça Mayor Fatih GÜRBÜZ, Foça Republic Prosecutor Muhammet Şenol ÇELİKER, Foça District Police Chief Ergül ÇETİN, Foça Garrison Command armed forces personnel, and police officers also attended the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Governor TÜRKÖZ stated: “We are proud and happy to celebrate the 178th anniversary of the establishment of the Police Organization, which has made extraordinary efforts to create an internal security environment in our country. Our police organization, which has been working with a superior understanding of duty for the prevention and solution of crimes as well as the maintenance of public order since its establishment, also closely follows the developing technology and continuously improves themselves with knowledge and skills to perform their duties.”

“I sincerely believe that our heroic police officers, who have never given in to any threat in ensuring the security of our citizens who have lived in peace, brotherhood, and harmony on these lands for thousands of years, will continue to carry out this difficult task successfully, as they have been doing so far.”

“I congratulate the valuable police officers who work selflessly day and night in our city and every corner of our country on the occasion of the Police Day on April 10th, and express my separate thanks to each of our police officers who have retired and worked with great dedication and service enthusiasm.”

Foça District Police Chief Ergül Çetin, in his speech marking the importance of the day, stated: “Today, as the Turkish Police, we are proud to celebrate the 178th anniversary of our organization, which is full of historical successes. As the Turkish Police Organization, we are fighting without hesitation to sacrifice ourselves against all kinds of illegality and terrorism for the continuity of our state and the peace and security of our people, regardless of working hours. Our Security Organization takes every necessary precaution to build the future with confidence, taking its strength from the accumulation, experience, and success of 178 years, and sees the appreciation, love, and prayers of our people as the highest level of positions.”

Foça Mayor Fatih Gürbüz thanked all security officers who ensure the safety of our country, through District Police Chief Ergül Çetin. After the ceremony, Governor Mehmet Türköz, Mayor Fatih Gürbüz, Republic Prosecutor Muhammet Şenol Çeliker, and protocol members then went to Foça.
