A warning statement was made from the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality against the fraudsters who were calling on behalf of the municipality and collecting money to help the earthquake region. ESHOT General Directorate filed a criminal complaint upon a fraud report.

In the statement made by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, it was stated that the fraudsters made calls on behalf of the municipality, as well as the affiliated institutions ESHOT or İZSU, by introducing themselves as ‘manager’. With this method, it was requested that those who request financial support should not be respected; It was emphasized that such situations should be reported to the police immediately.

Criminal complaint from ESHOT
On the other hand, ESHOT General Directorate filed a criminal complaint with the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office upon a fraud report. In the petition, it was stated that the people who reached some citizens by phone introduced themselves as the managers of the ESHOT General Directorate and asked for money to be deposited into the bank account they provided. Bank account information was also included in the petition, and it was requested that necessary action be taken.
