Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) City Theaters introduced the Oscar, written by Claude Magnier, translated by Asude Zeybekoğlu and directed by Ersin Umulu.
The play, which premiered on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Kağıthane Sadabad Stage, brings the results of lying and trickery to the stage with the language of humor.
“Christian is in love with Jacqueline, and Colette with Oscar. Christian intends to ask Monsieur Bernard for the daughter he has loved for a long time. Colette, on the other hand, plans to marry her lover by lying to her father, Monsieur Bernard. But neither Christian wants the right girl, nor is Colette about to marry the right man. Things that go awry in a few minutes do not seem to be resolved easily.”
The dramaturgy of the play Oscar was done by Hatice Yurtduru, the decor-costume design was done by Almila Altunsoy, the effects design was done by Nesin Coşkuner, and the lighting design was by Murat İş; Ahmet Çelikbaş took the photographs.
