Machinery Exporters’ Association; Turkey Machinery Industry Sustainability Action Plan Report has been published so that manufacturers can have a sustainable value chain and quickly adapt to the Twin Transformation. The strategy report, which was created as a result of examining the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, 169 sub-headings and 241 indicators determined by the United Nations, deals with sustainability in terms of international norms and standards regarding economic, social and environmental responsibility.
Stating that they support the strategy studies of the exporting sectors for green transformation planning and that they aim to develop these processes with innovative project designs from now on, the President of the Turkish Exporters Assembly, Mustafa Gültepe, said:
“In line with our country’s net zero carbon target for 2053, we, as the export family, follow the sustainable development goals and indicators with great care. Our sectors are trying to determine the factors that will make our exporting companies strong in international competition with the sustainability strategies they have prepared by considering their own dynamics. Each of these strategies, which we are working on to contribute to the preparation phases, has unique aspects. I believe that the Turkish Machinery Sector Sustainability Action Plan Report will be a source of inspiration for our other sectors with the method it follows. The need for machinery and production methods that will minimize carbon emissions is increasing rapidly. Our relevant sectors have a great responsibility in diversifying and developing clean technologies. Our expectation from our machinery manufacturers is to support environmentally friendly innovative initiatives and create new solutions that will increase the competitiveness of all our sectors. It is also of great importance for our current account balance that the transformation process, which started in all of our 27 export sectors, progresses with our domestic technologies.”

Drawing attention to the exemplary position of the machinery industry, which closely monitors industrial developments and leads the integration of its manufacturers with the world, Chairman of the Machinery Exporters’ Association Kutlu Karavelioğlu said:
“The Turkish Machinery Sector Sustainability Action Plan Report, which we have created by analyzing the Sustainable Development Goals with all sub-headings and indicators, is a first among sectoral studies with its method and approach. The main motivation that pushed us to carry out this study, which took months to prepare, is that we feel responsible for developing sustainable methods, as the sector that develops current production technologies. The goal of developing methods that do more work and production by consuming less raw materials and energy, designing machines and facilities with low emissions, waste and waste, and creating new technologies and systems related to green energy production places our industry and its products in a central position in a major transformation.”
“A road full of tough and compulsory sanctions awaits us”
Drawing attention to the fact that the process has an economic dimension as well as its direct relevance to sustainable life, and that there are duties to be fulfilled by each industry branch within the scope of the European Union’s plan to reduce emissions by 55 percent by 2030, Karavelioğlu said:
“As you know, there is broad agreement that the goal of a carbon-neutral world by 2050 is achievable, and it is clear that we have a difficult and enforced path ahead of us to achieve these goals. The EU Green Consensus will bring before us very different legislation in 9 main chapters in a short time and we will be responsible for creating our policies to comply with them. Although each title will contain a huge set of regulations in itself, we have to overcome them in order to remain competitive.”

Indicating that they will gather all their work on sustainability, including Twin Transformation, under the umbrella brand of Mundus+ with the motto “We Have a Word to the World”, Karavelioğlu said:
“In our Sustainability Action Plan preparations, we aimed to develop a model that will guide our machinery manufacturers. We have defined the action areas that make up the added value chain of our industry, from raw material input and suppliers to recycling and product life cycle. Our strategy report; It contains a very comprehensive Sustainability Compliance Map, which we have finalized by taking into account a total of 11 Global Goals, 7 of which are priority and direct and 4 of which are related to these action areas. In addition, it provides the opportunity to make self-assessments at the scale of sub-sectors or businesses by examining the rating methods of the most competent authorities. In the report, we both clearly define the critical performance criteria and comprehensively explain that whichever international reports and methods are complied with will make our work easier in the future. The set of actions in our report has been designed in a structure that can be easily adapted to all production areas other than machinery manufacturing, if sectoral differences are reflected. Our aim is to bring together the experience and expertise that will be accumulated in our country in the field of sustainability under the Mundus+ brand, which symbolizes our dream of a better world, and to bring together the sustainability leaders at this address.”
“Digital Glossary Guide and Green Glossary Guide are available”
Expressing that they will continue to develop the Mundus+ brand as a holistic transformation project as a common thinking point open to innovations and collaborations, Karavelioğlu gave the good news that they have published another guide as a reference source under the title Twin Transformation:
“We believe that the way to create a strong unity of action is to create a common language and culture as countries, sectors and institutions. We think that understanding the concepts correctly is through understanding the foreign mentality and cultural world in which they emerged. The Digital Terms Guide, which thousands of people have accessed online, has been in service for one year, and we have published the Green Terms Guide on its website and mobile device applications.
