450 tons of aid materials were brought from Germany under the leadership of SunExpress

Within the scope of the air bridge established between Germany and Turkey under the leadership of SunExpress, 450 tons of relief materials have been delivered to the earthquake zone so far. With the ‘We Support Together’ initiative, a total of 1000 tons of aid materials are expected to be transported to the region.

More than 450 tons of aid materials collected from donors in Germany were transported to the earthquake zone within the scope of the ‘We Support Together’ initiative led by SunExpress, a joint venture of Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, in cooperation with DPD, FIEGE, time:matters, CB Customs Broker GmbH and Lufthansa Cargo.

More than 3,000 parcels delivered to DPD stores were brought to Turkey with 8 cargo flights. A total of 1000 tons of aid materials are planned to be delivered to the region in line with the needs over the next few weeks, with the air bridge established within the scope of the ‘We Support Together’ initiative.

As part of the ‘We Support Together’ initiative, individual donations made to the earthquake zone can be delivered to 7,700 DPD stores in Germany. The logistics coordination of the donations is provided through the logistics centers of the FIEGE Group and time:matters. Donations are brought from Frankfurt to Antalya with SunExpress and Lufthansa Cargo with special flights organized several times a week and delivered to those in need through AFAD. In this context, individual donations from Germany are delivered to Turkey regularly and quickly.

It ensured the evacuation of approximately 18,000 people from the region.

SunExpress has carried out a total of 424 special flights so far to bring search and rescue and medical teams to the earthquake area and to evacuate citizens. SunExpress, which carried approximately 7,500 search and rescue and medical teams to the region on special flights it organized, ensured the evacuation of approximately 18 thousand people affected by the earthquake on the return flights of these flights. The airline delivered 223 tons of relief materials to the earthquake zone by providing free courier service, which came through all official authorities, including AFAD.
