Artist Şevket Dağ, with the organization of Humanis, is once again embracing his beloved Istanbul.
The exhibition titled “A Painter in the Enchantment of Time and Space: Şevket Dağ,” which brings together the works of Şevket Dağ, one of the master names in the world of art, for the first time, is meeting art enthusiasts in Istanbul at the Mongeri Building under the auspices of Bozlu Art Project. Thanks to this special exhibition organized by Humanis, Şevket Dağ is once again embracing his beloved Istanbul.
The works of Şevket Dağ (1875-1944), one of the leading figures in the history of Ottoman and early Republican art, are being exhibited together for the first time in the exhibition titled “A Painter in the Enchantment of Time and Space: Şevket Dağ,” which is hosted by Bozlu Art Project in collaboration with Humanis. This comprehensive exhibition, organized by Humanis, opened to the public on September 22, 2023.

Although Şevket Dağ’s works with detailed and unique depictions of interior spaces have been featured in various group exhibitions after the artist’s lifetime, a comprehensive exhibition showcasing a large number of his works has not been organized until now. Şevket Dağ, who focused on the historical places of Istanbul in many of his works, is once again embracing the city he values and loves through this exhibition. “A Painter in the Enchantment of Time and Space: Şevket Dağ” exhibition brings together a total of 65 works by the artist, along with various personal objects, archive documents, and photographs.
The opening night of the exhibition, moderated by the famous artist Volkan Severcan, was attended by Yunus Sancak, CEO of Humanis, journalist Doğan Hızlan, Muammer Keskin, Mayor of Şişli, Dr. Şükrü Bozluolçay, Chairman of the Board of Bozlu Holding, and many art enthusiasts from the healthcare sector. During the event, Doğan Hızlan shared Şevket Dağ’s place in art history and the importance of the exhibition with the guests.

MORE THAN 150,000 PEOPLE HAVE VISITED THE EXHIBITION SO FAR
This special exhibition, which brings together a significant portion of Şevket Dağ’s works for the first time, first met art enthusiasts at the İzmir Folkart Gallery. Then, with the organization of Humanis, the exhibition was also highly acclaimed at its second stop, the Ankara CerModern. To date, more than 150,000 people have visited the exhibition.
The exhibition will be open to visitors at the Bozlu Art Project Mongeri Building until November 25, 2023.
