59% of teens want to learn more with AI in the next 5 years

Technology has an impact on every aspect of people’s lives. While it is said that technology provides convenience in the flow of daily life, its impact on education life is also on the agenda. According to the latest research by GoStudent on Generation Z and Alpha, it seriously reveals the impact of technology on education and learning in the future.

GoStudent, one of the world’s leading education platforms, has implemented the “GoStudent Future of Education Report” research in Europe in order to better prepare the young generations for the future, to understand what young people and parents expect from education and how the education process can be improved. The research reveals that generations Z and Alpha demand a holistic learning experience in order to gain both knowledge and practical skills. 91% of young people say that having a job they love is a priority for them. Three out of four young people (75%) would like to see more use of technology in their education. 73% of young people believe that technology can facilitate learning and 69% believe that it can nurture their creativity.

59% of teens want to learn more with AI in the next 5 years

Artificial intelligence has taken its place on the agenda, especially with the release of ChatGPT, which has recently created excitement and controversy with its ability to imitate human writing. Teens also have a strong desire to learn more about technology in school, and one in two wants to learn about video game programming (51%) or artificial intelligence (50%). Artificial intelligence is expected to become an increasing presence in our lives with the potential to transform huge business areas.

When asked about the use of technology in the classroom, 75% of young people want their school to include more technology in the curriculum to prepare them for their future jobs, and 76% want to be trained to use technology. Only half (52%) of young people believe that their teachers are good at technology and encourage it to be used. Two out of three students think they are well trained to use technology.

Metaverse will play a key role in learning more effectively for years to come

The Metaverse seems rich in learning opportunities, such as making learning interactive, children virtually visiting historical periods, chatting with vendors at foreign fruit markets, and experimenting in world-class labs. While 80% of children in Europe find it beneficial to use Metaverse for educational purposes, it is noteworthy that this rate is not insignificant for parents. 68% of parents in Europe find it useful to use Metaverse for educational purposes.

64% of teens think Metaverse will make education more fun, while 63% think Metaverse will allow them to test things in a virtual world before choosing their future job in real life. Also, 60% of teens think Metaverse will allow them to learn from inspiring people other than their teachers at school, and 43% think Metaverse will replace the physical classroom.

Commenting on the research, GoStudent Co-Founder and CEO Felix Oshwald; “Gen Z and Alpha are a motivated and ambitious generation with big dreams. With the Future of Education Report research, we listened to what thousands of children in Europe demand from their education, how they want it to develop and their expectations. As a result of the research, we saw that; Young people are inspired by new technologies and want their learning to break through the four walls of the classroom, developing life skills and interests that will prepare them for adulthood. They desire a more holistic learning experience. At GoStudent, by understanding the needs of young people and families, we can unlock the potential of every child and provide a better education model for the future.” said.
