Cengiz Holding, which mobilized all of its subsidiaries, group companies, heavy machinery, and technical teams as well as expert rescue teams working in its mining operations since the early hours of the earthquake disaster that affected 10 provinces with its epicenter in Kahramanmaraş, took a leading step today in the donations made for the earthquake zones and provided a support of 500 million TL.

The following information was included in Cengiz Holding’s statement:

We are deeply shaken by the earthquakes that have deeply affected our country and are experiencing the deep sorrow of the earthquakes. Our hearts are breaking for the lives lost, and we pray for a quick recovery for the injured.

As Cengiz Holding, we are conducting a comprehensive effort to heal the wounds of the earthquake disaster, save lives, and quickly reach those in need. While we continue to provide support for construction machinery, equipment, and vehicles to the earthquake-affected areas, we are also sending technical teams and expert rescue teams from the mining facilities to the affected areas. Our total of 432-member search and rescue team is continuing its work in the area. Approximately 187 people consisting of the technical team, such as drivers, engineers, foremen, operators, required for the construction machinery are also continuing to support the earthquake response efforts in the affected area.

Meanwhile, the work is being accelerated for the soup kitchens to be established in Adiyaman, Malatya, and Gaziantep as well as in Islahiye. These soup kitchens will provide hot meals to 5 thousand people (a total of 15 thousand) a day starting from February 13, 2023. We have also provided support for 2 bread factories in Islahiye and Hatay.

In addition to all these efforts, we have decided to make a support donation of 500 million Turkish Liras for the earthquake affected areas. 400 million of this will be sent to AFAD and 100 million to AHBAP. While we continue all our efforts at the same pace, we will do everything in our power to heal our wounds together. Today is a day for unity and for fighting together. We invite all the Turkish business world to be part of this sensitivity and we wholeheartedly believe that we will overcome these difficult times together.
