“100 Young People in Yahyalı Will Be Employed Through the NEETPRO EU Project Prepared by Yahyalı Municipality”
Yahyalı Municipality, which applied to the call for “Increasing Youth Employment” under the IKG Operational Program, for which the European Union Labor and Social Security Ministry is the project authority, has been awarded a grant for its project named “Guiding Youth in Yahyalı to Employment through Vocational Training”. The project grant was signed on 08.05.2023 at the EU Financial Assistance Department of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.
Yahyalı Mayor Esat Öztürk provided information about the project, saying: “We have done similar projects before. We attach great importance to the employment of our young people. In this project, we aim to increase employability by providing vocational training to young people aged 15-29 who are neither in education nor employment. Employment, which is one of the biggest problems in the world and our country, also manifests itself in our district as structural unemployment. While companies looking for workers cannot find qualified employees, unemployed job seekers who are unskilled make up the army of the unemployed. In order to fight against structural unemployment in our district, Yahyalı Municipality has brought this project to our district. 100 young people who are neither in education nor employment will receive training in beauty center services (skin care, basic makeup, epilation, depilation), boutique chocolate pastry, customer representation and executive assistantship, and manufacturing assembly to produce qualified personnel required in the market, and their employment will be provided between the ages of 15-29. Positive discrimination towards women will be applied at a rate of 60% in the project. I would like to thank Yusuf Parlak, who prepared the project. Yahyalı Municipality, Kayseri University, ORAN Development Agency and Yahyalı Chamber of Commerce are co-applicants in the project. NEETs who attend the training will be given a certificate at the end of the course. The project budget is 286,385 euros. 10% of the project budget will be covered by Yahyalı Municipality as co-financing.”
